Lecturer at the Kyoto University of Art and Design. President of Social Design Lab, NPO. Born in Osaka, in 1976. After his master’s degree he has been involved in social projects in Ieshima Island that benefit both the local people and economics. He created forest preservation plans in Hyogo Prefecture as an officer in the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Also, he supported district planning and arranged events and workshops for the local people at Kyoto Center for Community Collaboration.

After these activities, he joined studio-L in 2006. In the next year, he became an adviser of some districts in Kyoto City for reorganizing social capital. And one of his main roles is to encourage the locals to be involved in the effective planning and management of public facilities. He has co-published some books such as: Coordinator for Town Planning (2009), What Design Can Do Against Earthquakes (2009), Design Changes Communities (2011), Community Design Works (2012) etc.
